Community engagement

We are committed to preventing discrimination and promoting human rights across all communities by fostering a culture of respect, inclusion and understanding.

Through our community engagement initiatives, we empower individuals, groups and organisations to:

      • understand their human rights
      • protect their rights and the rights of others
      • support community leaders to disseminate and share information on human rights and prevention of discrimination with their communities
      • promote human rights and prevention of discrimination in their everyday lives
      • connect Queenslanders and support a culture of human rights and preventing discrimination.

      Engagement activities

We collaborate with diverse communities across Queensland to deliver a range of workshops, information sessions, events and forums to raise awareness of rights and responsibilities under the Anti-Discrimination Act 2009 and the Human Rights Act 2019.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement

Recognising the unique rights, cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we engage with First Nations communities to support and protect their human rights.
