Consultation: Independent strategic review of Queensland’s human rights and anti-discrimination framework

The independent team undertaking the Strategic Review of Queensland’s human rights and anti-discrimination framework is inviting public submissions to further inform the ongoing review.

The Review team is considering the legal frameworks that support Queensland’s human rights and anti-discrimination protections, including how complaints are managed.

The uncommenced provisions of the Respect at Work Act and Other Matters Amendment Act 2024, which relied on findings from the Commission’s Building Belonging Report, will also be reviewed.

These laws impact how Queenslanders experience human rights and anti-discrimination protections in practice, including when accessing services, interacting with government agencies, resolving and complaints and participating in everyday life.

Submissions are welcome from all Queenslanders with lived experience, advocacy groups, legal professionals, community services providers, and anyone interested in human rights and anti-discrimination issues.

Feedback received will help inform future findings and recommendations to government arising from the Strategic Review.

Public consultation closes on Friday, 30 October 2026.
